Position Description: Office Manager & Bookkeeper at VERESSA MEDICAL, an NIT Portfolio Company

Veressa Medical, an emerging company pioneering new lifestyle friendly solutions for bladder control, is seeking an Office Manager and Bookkeeper to be responsible for the general operation and administration of our office, bookkeeping and administrative support for our executive team. Duties will include managing the office environment and activities on a day to day basis, overseeing human resource administration, planning meetings and conferences, managing office equipment and supplies, greeting visitors, answering incoming phone calls, and supervising our office staff to ensure maximum productivity. You will also be required to create presentations and produce management-level reports.

To be a successful hire, you will need to have prior experience in office administration. You will also need to be proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Overseeing general office administration and operation.

·       Greeting visitors, answering incoming phone calls and delivering world-class service to our customers.

·       Coordinating appointments and meetings and managing staff calendars and schedules.

·       Executive administrative support

·       Supervising, mentoring, training, and coaching our office staff and delegating assignments to ensure maximum productivity.

·       Coordinating domestic and international travel, including flight, hotel, and car rental reservations.

·       Purchasing office supplies and equipment; maintaining proper stock levels

·       Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts

·       Bookkeeping along with monthly financial reconciliation and reports

·       Human Resources responsibilities, including, but not limited to on and off boarding, documentation, managing job postings, review applications for key personnel positions, managing interviews and interactions with prospective employees

·       Producing reports, composing correspondence, and drafting new contracts.

·       Creating presentations and other management-level reports.

Qualifications:

·       A bachelor degree or equivalent, Five or more years of experience in office administration, Experience with bookkeeping and basic accounting principles, excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Quickbooks is preferred but not required.

Position Description:  Vice President, R&D at VERESSA MEDICAL, an NIT Portfolio Company

General Description

Provide strategic leadership and direction directing design and development engineering operations for portfolio of neuromodulation technologies focused on bladder control and pelvic floor dysfunction for emerging company, Veressa Medical.   The individual will be the senior R&D leader in the organization, providing technical leadership, strategic product guidance, project definition, and performance management of development personnel.   The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities

·        Serve as the senior technical/scientific officer and manager, overseeing all product research and development to ensure that products are meet specifications and are delivered in accordance with project plans.

·        Manage and review project deliverables including project plans, product specifications, risk analysis, drawings, prototype assembly instructions, feasibility test plans, protocols, and reports.

·        Leads cross-functional product development teams to research and develop aspects of neurotechnology devices, which may include pre-clinical studies, human-centric design, biomedical data, hardware, software and consumable integration.

·        Maintain responsibility for hiring and retaining a diverse, highly qualified staff and for providing career coaching, growth and personal development for direct/indirect report employees.

·        Ensure work is done in compliance with FDA, ISO, CE, and other key worldwide market regulatory and quality requirements.

·        Sets standards of technical competency and skill development. Creates an environment that consistently fosters employee understanding of quality and motivates all employees to actively participate in the process of continuous improvement. Accountable for the performance of subordinates as well as the work output of managed subcontractors.

·        Lead product design to meet customer requirements, applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards. Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.

·        Remain current on developments in neurotechnology field, regulatory requirements and industry trends with a focus on championing market-driven technologies.

·        Nurture innovation, support activities that would promote new ideas, products, methods resulting in higher company value, brand recognition, customer awareness through expanding the intellectual property portfolio, including but not limited to authoring white papers, technical briefs.

·        Maintain and oversee budget management.  Perform cost estimates, forecasting, resource planning.

·        Maintain a safe and productive, professional, fun to work environment.

Qualifications

·        BS in relevant engineering discipline, with advanced degree or equivalent experience

·        10+ years of demonstrated success and progressive experience in engineering and product development with demonstrated design capability and thorough understanding of the FDA regulated product development process.  Experience with neurostimulation and in startup/early-stage companies strongly preferred.

·        Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, supervise, hire, and mentor highly talented engineering personnel as individual contributors and leaders on product development teams

·        Open and collaborative style - must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged

·        Energy and enthusiasm; candidates should find the work “fun”, and have a passion for innovation and in saving and improving lives in neurotechnology

·        Must possess the initiative to get results, and a “whatever it takes” attitude to do what’s necessary to accomplish the team objectives with integrity

·    Willing and able to travel domestically, up to 25% of the time
